Frederik Aquino

Professor of theology and philosophy in the GST and director of the undergraduate philosophy minor at ACU. He earned his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at Southern Methodist University (2000). His publications are in the areas of religious epistemology, spiritual perception, John Henry Newman, and Maximus the Confessor. He is currently working on a constructive account of spiritual perception and on the relevance of John Henry Newman’s thought for issues in contemporary epistemology. His publications with Oxford includes Sensing Things Divine: Towards a Constructive Account of Spiritual Perception, co-edited with Paul Gavrilyuk (2022), Receptions of Newman, co-edited with Benjamin J. King (2015), The Oxford Handbook of the Epistemology of Theology, co-edited with William J. Abraham (forthcoming), and The Oxford Handbook of John Henry Newman, co-edited with Benjamin J. King (forthcoming).
