Doctorate from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. He is currently Professor of Islamic Philosophy and acting Dean of the Divinity Faculty at the Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey. He has published books and articles on hermeneutics, philosophy of religion, Islamic philosophy and ethics. His work on contemporary hermeneutical theories is translated into Russian. His published works includes The Historicity of Understanding and the Problem of Relativism in Gadamer’s Philosophical Hermeneutics (Washington, DC: The Council for Research in Values and Philosophy, 2002); Sovremennaya germenevtika (in Russian) (Scotts Valley, CA: Createspace Publishing, 2018); Cagdas Yorumbilim Kuramlari-Felsefi ve Elestirel Hermeneutik (Ankara: Dogu Bati Yayinlari, 2016).
