The dynamics of values and communities. Inside and outside perspectives
The research, from both internal and external perspectives, aims to better understand the mechanisms and tendencies driving these evolutions and changes, and to foster debate on this important topic.
Values and Spirituality in a Global Context
Today, the meaning of spirituality is broader and more diverse than it was a century or even just a few decades ago. There are multiple reasons for this, mostly linked to the ongoing changes in our way of life. The concepts of spirituality and spiritual life are even more intricate today. Properly understanding the blending of old and new spiritual habits and attitudes requires complex interdisciplinary research. This approach helps identify the reasons behind individual and social behaviors, but such evolutions can only be fully understood within the global context of today’s world, making international research teams essential for this kind of investigation.
Establishing and Developing a Research Network
The Institute can serve as a platform for scholars worldwide to explore and deepen their understanding of recent developments in the connection between values and spirituality, and their effects on human life at both the individual and community levels.
Research Topics
Research areas include evaluating the current role of values; topics such as self, soul, body, and personhood; the meanings and significance of the spiritual act; and the complex roles of artifacts, shapes, images, and symbols.
